Subject: HBO Documentary
Dear Mr. Okerlund:
Many thanks for taking the time to speak with me today about the
documentary I'm co-producing for HBO. As I mentioned, the film will explore combat trauma and post-traumatic stress
in the military from the Civil War through the present-day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. We will walk with and
listen to brave men and women who went to war and came home changed. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak over
the phone with any Warlords who experienced, or perhaps still experience, combat PTSD from their service during the Vietnam
War.
I can't think of many more stressful things than flying into hails of bullets to rescue
terribly injured servicemembers and civilians. I've already spoken to one Warlord with a moving story, and it would
be powerful to assemble a chorus of voices to tell the larger story of the Warlords -- what they did in Vietnam and how they
came home.
I don't know if you have a mass email list, but -- if you do -- please feel free
